The Second Phase of Grendon Road Almshouses is Progressing Excellently!

Our team at Fifields Construction has been working with Exeter Homes Trust for many years, and during this time, we've built a strong relationship with them.

The Grendon Road historic building project has lasted for two years, but it's spilt into two phases.

What does the first phase involve?

The first phase of the renovation project involved the following:

- Renovating each individual flat.

- Relocating residents to another block during the works.

- Conducting a full strip-out.

- A new rear extension with facilities such as kitchens and wetrooms.

- Upgraded double glazing and insulation.

-Construction of a new outside building.

What does the second phase involve?

The second phase will finish in the spring of 2025.

Phase two involves:

-Renovating the remaining units throughout the building.

- Ensuring the residents benefit from upgraded sustainable living spaces.

- Constructing additional rear extensions.

Our primary focus and goal is to enhance the residents' quality of life by introducing new facilities and upgraded energy-efficient features, while also preserving the architectural heritage of the building.

Spring may be far, but you'll be surprised by how fast it goes!
